CFA Program Manager Position
The South-South Exchange Programme for Research on the History of Development, an institution based in Rio and Amsterdam, opens a position for a Program Manager to start immediately.
Eligibility criteria
- PhD (ongoing or finished) in social sciences or humanities; other areas will be considered.
- Proved experience in project management, including academic writing and command of tools and apps for managing workflow and work teams;
- Language skills: English and Portuguese or Spanish. Knowledge of other languages will be welcomed.
Description
The Program Manager will work closely with Sephis’ Chairs, Coordinator and with our Executive Committee. She or he will organize and oversee administrative flow to facilitate the smooth running of Sephis’ activities, projects, and programs. Regular activities include:
Managing our institutional schedule, agenda, and tasks
- The regular workflow of our projects, and programs, events, and seminars
- The ongoing organization of our files, spreadsheets and databases, including Sephis’ Dropbox account;
- The sharing of reports, including giving short presentations.
Managing our communication and public institutional image, including
- E-mails and mailing lists, as well as social media platforms and zoom account;
- Coordinating the production and flow of short articles for academic and scientific divulgation journals, blogs and magazines (such as EPW, Sapiens, and similar).
Organizing and managing our scientific agenda, including
- Participating in the coordination of research projects, events and seminars and writing reports;
- Conducting literature reviews, revising draft proposals, and short articles;
- Conducting inquiries for administrative purposes.
Co-coordinating the workflow of research assistants
- Managing the team workload and output;
- Conducting staff appraisals, managing performance and promoting staff development and training;
Requirements and Working hours
The position requires the ability to work as part of a team, excellent communication and organizational skills, and time management skills – including managing apps and software.
An average of 20 hours per week, depending on the workflow of activities and projects
Remuneration
Remuneration will be based on PhD or Post-doc grants rate (depending on the stage of the career).
